I am just from watching a live feed of American President Barack Obama's cairo Speech(at the Grand Hall of Cairo University) to the muslim world and can say without doubt he is gifted. He has just given analogy between the black slavery struggles and that non violent means is what led to the emancipation of black Americans ,(his case being a proof of achievable change)and not violent struggle. He has acknowledged that both Palestine and Israel have legitimate concerns but violence is not the solution but constructive engagement.
President Obama's speech to the Muslim World is aimed at building a coalition of Muslim governments that will back his efforts to revive stalled Middle East peace talks and help curb Iran's nuclear program.
In it he states " I have come here to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world; one based upon mutual interest and mutual respect; and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles – principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings"
President Obama speaks authoritatively and impressively. His demeanour reeks of certainty and good will, unfortunately achieving world peace may be beyond him no matter his intentions! The other state actors seem to have hard line positions .Even if they achieve peace , the question that remains is does it last? However his efforts are commendable. For a full text of the speech transcript please click on the following Obama Cairo University speech link . You can catch up with a live feed on CNN(heres a sneak preview video):
I agree with you, Obama is talented, charismatic, you name it. He delivered the speech which quenched the thirsty of peace lovers.
ReplyDeleteMy question is, did that speech come from his head?i dont thinks it was written somewhere.Or?
